15 Dog Friendly Sheffield Walks

Where can I go for a walk In Sheffield?
 

When you have a dog, the same walks can become a bit tiresome, especially for children.

Sheffield is the ideal place for exploring green spaces and has so many local, doorstep walks on offer. Here is a good selection (with map links) which may offer a bit of variety for you during the week or at weekends:

  1. Bradfield Boundary Walk - a selection of walks around Bradfield and neighbouring villages. Do as much or as little as you like

  2. Broomhill walking map - Featuring some excellent spots including Bole hill, Botanical Gardens and the Sheffield cemetery, ideal for city exploring.

  3. Charlton Brook and Thorncliffe Pond - An easy walk (2.5 mile) around Charlton Brook to Charlton Brook Dam. The walk may be extended to include the wooded area around Thorncliffe Pond.

  4. Darnall - Parks and woodland to explore in this city map

  5. Ecclesfield to Whitley - A walk of around 2 miles through woods and across fields. Some surfaced paths or roads, but with some uphill sections and stiles. Good views across farmland near Ecclesfield.

  6. Journeys to hidden places - Some interesting things await your exploring in Firth Park and Wincobank

  7. Lodge moor - A variety of trails ideal for all ages

  8. Mayfield and Porter Valleys - a good 4 miles featuring a dam, woodland and a playground

  9. Shire brook valley - Get lost in this hidden gem , with a variety of trails and paths to follow.

  10. Manor fields - Choose an easy route (pushchair friendly) or slightly harder trail using the map provided.

  11. Sheffield Round Walk - choose a section and follow the acorns to explore some exciting areas of Sheffield including the Limb Valley, Sheaf Valley and Gleadless.

  12. Five Weirs - walk along the canal and discover Sheffields industrial and cultural side

  13. Bowden Housteds Walk - Can you find the iron man in the woods?

  14. Agden, Dale Dike and Damflask - all feature in this handy map

  15. High Green to Wortley - a good 7 mile ideal for older children through woods and farmland

  16. Season walk around ecclesall wood
