Chatsworth estate free walks

Did you know that you don’t need to spend any money to enjoy a dog friendly walk at the Chatsworth Estate in the peak district?


However you can choose to pay and enjoy the house, gardens and farmyard/playgrounds, however these arent as dog friendly options.


Chatsworth House is home to 1,000 acres of parkland and woodland to explore. Chatsworth Park is open to the public free of charge, all year round. This includes part of the main estate – covering 12,310 acres around the house.


1. Chatsworth Park includes Stand Wood - which has 2 walking trails; easy going trail (red trail) and an explorers walk. The easy going trail is also wheelchair / buggy friendly.



2. Carlton Lees car park -> Carlton Hollow

approx 3km and allow 1.5hrs


3. Carlton lees car park -> Edensor

Slightly longer at 5km and allow 2 hours

4. Chatsworth 8 mile circular walk taking in Beeley, Edensor and Chatsworth. Ideal for older children and the adventurers amongst you. Details here


5. Puddings and Palaces - a good 6 miles For those With older children but takes in bakewell, river derwent and Chatsworth estate. Details here.
