Another little hidden gem that I’ve only just discovered and I can’t stop going now! I think I’ve been about 3 times in the last month. It’s just so lovely and dog friendly.
Approx 30 mins from Sheffield, Cusworth Hall is an 18th-century Grade I listed country house in Cusworth, near Doncaster. Set in the landscaped parklands of Cusworth Park, Cusworth Hall is a good example of a Georgian country house and now a country house museum. (Note, the Hall & museum is currently closed due to COVID).
The historic parkland surrounding Cusworth Hall is open to the public every day of the year.
It’s the perfect location for picnics, walks with the dog, or family days out.
Children’s play areas and a playing field are also located within the Park and a variety of walking trails are available to discover.
The paths are suitable for buggies and scooters and there are ducks to feed by the lake. The lake itself makes a lovely walk around and is ideal for little legs as it’s not too far.
A cafe and toilets are all open for visitors (highly recommended the plougmans lunch board at the cafe) and dogs are allowed to sit outside.
it’s a perfect free day out!
