Autumn is here and its my favourite time of year. There is a wealth of days out, trails, and activities taking place over the coming weeks not to mention pumpkin season!!
Here are some popular dog friendly Halloween and half term days outs, walks, trails that I've found to be happening this October in South Yorkshire and beyond:

Halloween hunt, face painting, fancy dress completions. Garden tickets required.
Elvaston Castle & Country park
Sunday 30th October
HALLOWEEN TRAIL & PUMPKIN PARLOUR Complete the spooky trail to earn your certificate, then head to the courtyards to visit the Pumpkin Parlour and carve your very own pumpkin to take home! Fancy dress encouraged. Cost: £2 per trail sheet, pumpkin and other activity prices vary.
Historic gardens - Haunted Halloween Trail

Wakefield

Trail maps will be £2 with one free treat bag per map returned to the Visitor Centre. The trail will be open from 10am with last entry at 3.30pm.

Follow a lit pumpkin trail through the nature reserve to claim your treat

Search the maize for hidden pumpkins, tricks, treats and crafts. Farmyard and tea room open. Pre-book tickets online.
1 - 31st October
Approx 1 hour from Sheffield.
Pick your own pumpkins from the decorated woodland walk and enjoy fun for the whole family. There'll be plenty of pumpkins to choose from, photo areas, quizzes and more! Gift shop and cafe.
2-31st Oct, Wakefield
Although dogs are not allowed on the patch itself, they are welcome to enter the festival.
Leeds
From 2nd October, every fri/sat/sun during October
23-30th October
The family trail will take you around the ruined medieval abbey and along the way you will find plenty of creepy creatures, spooky statues and peculiar props. For non-Leeds residents there is a small one-off annual charge to visit the ruins, which gives you a pass to visit for 12 months.
Sat 22nd October 5.30-9.00pm
A 5km forest trail with craft stalls, refreshments and fun for the family.
