Queens Park, Chesterfield

Updated: Mar 12, 2021

I love finding new places to visit and I can’t believe I’ve only just discovered this hidden gem in Chesterfield. We went a few weeks ago on a lovely sunny day and it’s the perfect spot for everything to keep the children entertained (whilst keeping the dog close by!).

Sandpit

FREE sandpit complete with adventure pirate ship and mini playground in the middle. Kids will spend hours in here playing whilst the dog can be close by.

TWO playgrounds

Not one. But TWO playgrounds to keep the little ones entertained and they are not gates so the dog can be close by. There is one which is for older children too.

Cafe, Toilets & Parking

Great cafe and public toilets which are always handy when out with children. The cafe serves a variety of takeaway food and the pizzas are delicious. A decent sized car park is available but is chargeable.

Smooth paths

Now, if you have children who are a bit fussy when riding a bike or scootering, then this park is ideal. Very smooth, tarmac paths and lots of space so you’re not in anyones way. Ideal for buggies and pushchairs too.

Ducks to feed

This is a little added treat and ideal for little ones to keep them entertained.

Miniature Railway

When we visited this wasn’t running. However the website does say that it runs at weekends and during the summer holidays. But this is a great added bonus to a day out. (not guaranteed to run due to COVID)

Overall, this is a handy park to know if youre wanting to venture out with the children and dogs. Lots to do and easy to take the dog. It’s ideal for a picnic and ball games too as there is plenty of open space.
