The Avenue Country Park, Chesterfield

Updated: Mar 23, 2021

We love finding new adventures! If you are looking to escape the hustle and bustle of Chesterfield and Derbyshire this is the walk for you. Liz from our Facebook Community Group shares her pictures and contributes to the review of this park below:

Address: Hornbeam Drive, Wingerworth Derbyshire S42 6FY - Car Parking available.

An award winning parkland and nature reserve, The Avenue Country Park, Chesterfield over looks Chesterfield in Derbyshire and the crooked spire and is well worth a visit if you want a nice quiet walk. It’s a vast place, which we didnt even know it was there!

There are no facilities and not much to do for little ones other than walk, but there is a football pitch and another field for a good run around.

The large, well defined paths and trails are accessible for wheelchairs, buggies and would be great for a bike ride too. There are plenty of benches and dog bins placed all around the walk.

There is also a busy railway line next to the park for any train spotters - great for kids!

Well worth a visit if you want a lovely walk with some nice scenery. for more information, visit the Derbyshire Wildlife trust page here

Note - please check all destination information prior to travelling due to Covid restrictions. Stay local.
